Tracking your button clicks
Estimated time to complete: 1 minute
Requirements: Call Now Button plugin installed, Google Analytics implemented on website (not via GTM)
It's possble to keep track of the number of people that click on your buttons. While NowButtons itself doesn't store any of this information, you can easily do this in your Google Analytics account.
However, NowButtons are injected into your website's source code and are part of the DOM. This means you could manually set up event tracking if your statistics tool allows for it.
Enabling click tracking
Enabling click tracking (or event tracking) happens on the domain level. To do this:
Open the Settings page of the Call Now Button plugin and make sure you're on the General tab.
Click the toggle next to Google Analytics to activate click tracking.
Click Save changes at the bottom of the page to store the setting.
That's it! The NowButtons auto-detects your version of Google Analytics and enables the correct implementation method for tracking clicks on your buttons.
Here's an overview of the event parameter that are being send to Google Analytics.
