Certain actions such as WhatsApp and SMS/Text have the option to create a message template. This article explains what it is and how to use the message template.

Guiding the contact request

The message template can help guide the contact request. Without it, a vistor is taken to an empty message and has no guidance on how to best start the conversations. A very comon way to start the first message would be to start just with "Hi". That's nice, but it doesn't give you a lot of context: who is this? why is he/she contacting me? where did he/she come from? Etc.

The message template helps you guide the visitor to add that context.

Template example

Here's an example of a message template:

Hi there, my name is [NAME] and I'm interested in [PRODUCT/SERVICE]. Could you tell me more about [X]?

When the visitor sees this message prefilled into the messaging app, he/she could decide to remove it and still start with "Hi", but people are more likely to stick to the template and follow your guidance.
